Tree decorations from the German Christmas market in Birmingham
We put up our Christmas tree on Sunday and then decorated it last night. The tree is the one we had last year and had planted in the garden. My late aunt married a German and lived in Germany, so we have lovely straw and wood decorations which she sent us over the years. These particular ones, however, are from the Christmas market in Birmingham a few years ago.
Painted pebble 'santons' from France
These are one of my favourite things that we put out at Christmas. They are painted pebbles only two or three inches high. We have a donkey and a sheep, too. I found these in a village in the south of France a few years ago. Now it's an excuse to go back to collect more!
At this time of year, it's rather special to have someone's new first baby to knit for - in my case a colleague at work. I'm making another Garnstudio Drops design and using the amazingly soft Drops Alpaca yarn.
