Like the Beatrix Potter's Tailor of Gloucester, who ran out of cherry coloured 'twist' or thread near to the end of a project, I have run out of yarn for the Laurel beret that I am knitting from the wonderful Jared Flood's Made in Brooklyn collection. Frustrating, as I have only about ten rows to go and I will have to wait until tomorrow to buy some more. Anyway, here is the work in progress. I'm knitting with Rowan Pure Wool Aran (shade 681, attractively named 'blood'). It is beautiful wool to work with. The pattern is fun or challenging depending on how much you like cables and bobbles and knitting an increasingly small circumference in the round. I dolike the interest of lots of surface decoration and texture. What has been a slight annoyance are the errors in the pattern (make sure you look at the errata on the Classic Elite Yarns website if you make this hat). Also, follow the chart (enlarge it first - it's tiny) for guidance on where and when to move the beginning of row marker, as the written instructions are not right for this either, and are not corrected on the CEY website. If you are a Raveler, then Minhers notes are very useful.
